Automatic Barcode Generation

Agility Pro has a feature to automatically generate barcodes for stock.

To enable this, go to Tools-Tools Menu-Companies-System Parameters-Additional System Parameters and then select the Barcodes tab:

Tick the Automatic Barcode checkbox, and then select Agility from the first dropdown.

Prefix - this is optional and it is recommended to have a maximum of one character here. In this example, it is set as A for Agility

Next Number - this is what the first auto generated barcode will end in. In this example it is set to 21, so the first barcode will be A0000021

Once you have inputted the above settings and clicked Save, the below message will appear:

Click Yes if you want Agility to auto generate barcodes for any existing stock codes that do no have barcodes.

Click No if you only want Agility to auto generate barcodes for any new stock codes created from this point onwards.

As stated in the message, if you click Yes - it is not recommended to do this while trading as it will slow the system down while it generates the barcodes.

The below example shows the auto generated barcode for a new stock code that was set up after enabling Automatic Barcode:

This is automatically created after the product has been set up and saved and can be viewed in the Analysis (2) tab on Stock Item Maintenance by clicking on Set Up/Show Barcodes
