Stock - Creating a Building or Bin

INTRODUCTION

Managing stock is easy by using Bins. This enables the shop floor, warehouse and yard being give specific locations for products so it is easy to locate for customers and staff.
The location could be as simple as an aisle or breaking down the aisle into shelving units and even shelfs. 
E.g. A1 = Aisle 1 or A11 Aisle 1 shelf unit 1 or A111 Aisle 1, shelf unit and shelf 1
Bin locations can now be linked to a buildings also

SECURITY

Users need to have permission to do this and can be found in the group access right under the Stock Menus:


Create a Building or a Bin

Building

To create a building go to:
Stock\Ledger Maintenance\Stock Bins\Maintain Buildings

If, you have multiple depots select the specific depot else it will default to MAIN.
Type the building name and TAB

Select YES
Enter a description

Now Select SAVE

BIN

Stock\Ledger Maintenance\Stock Bins\Maintain Bins

Enter the new Bin Number
Select the depot
Select a Building if required
Enter a location
Enter a description
Non Stocked Items - leave unticked
No Restock Charge - leave unticked
Suspend - Self Explanatory
To be Collected/Delivered - Tick this if user wants customer collection paper work to print
Select NEW if more to be done

Select YES
When the Bin is linked to a building this can be seen in Buildings


Customer Collection

Create the Bin

If, the company wants to use the Customer Collection where ALL codes that have been flagged are in the yard and the customer needs to go and collect then the flag "To be collected/Delivered" when setting up the bin location needs to be ticked.

Stock Codes

Next is to then flag ALL codes that are in the yard to that bin location created.
Open the Stock Item Maintenance by selecting this shortcut 
Open the Locations Tab (2023 Onwards)

Select the Bin and save

Settings

For the paperwork to print there is a setting that needs to be changed.
Go to Tools - Tools Menu - Companies - System Parameters - EPOS System Parameters 
Go to the last column and select the drop down for Prompt for Warehouse Collection


No Prompt - Nothing happens
Cash Sales Only - Only works for a cash sale
Cash and Account - Works for both
Automatic

If cash or cash and trade are select the user when selling the items will be asked if they want to print the supplementary document.
The invoice will print and then the collection paperwork.
Customer takes this to the yard and items are loaded.
Customer signs the docket and gives to staff member.
