Creating Adding a VAT Rate
INTRODUCTION
VAT Rates are connected to Countries so Ensure the country is also created.
CREATE a VAT RATE
Go to Nominal>Ledger Maintenance>Company Data VAT Rates
Select Add
Country: Select the country from the drop down(If not there ADD the Country)
Rate: How it is to be categorized
VAT Rate: The value; 20, 12.5 etc.
Applicable From: When the vat rate begins
Description: Record how it will be seen
Select OK
Select Cancel to close screen
Select OK on the Rates screen
COUNTRY
If a country is not created go to Nominal>Ledger Maintenance>Countries and Currencies>Countries
Country: Enter the Country name hit enter
Sales Tax Name: Can be different for each country
Category: Select the category from the drop down menu
Default Band: Enter the Band R12, R20, R23 etc.
Default Percentage: Enter the corresponding % of the Band
