INTRODUCTION
To purchase and sell stock in agility Case Types are used to determine the quantity that is being purchased and sold.
For example a supplier may provide a product of piping which has 60 meters on a roll rather than purchasing 60 x 1 meter a case type can be created ROLLMTR(60). Putting the quantity in brackets helps both the supplier and customer know how much is being purchased or sold. There is no limit to the amount of case types that can be created. Sometimes easier to make case types reflect the suppliers to make it easier for purchasing.
When selling the ROLLMTR(60) this can have another case type also MTR and the user will be given the choice of which to sell as they will have different selling prices.

In order to create a case type go to Stock\Ledger Maintenance\Cases

Capacity is the quantity for the code for above 60

EXAMPLE of CASE
When creating a case type it is important to think about the quantity being assigned to it and the reason for this is how you then may sell the product. For example you may buy a box of screws and the box has 200 screws in it. Do you have a quantity of 200 or 1?
The answer to this question is will you break the box of screws down to sell smaller quantities if yes then enter 200 or if you are only ever going to sell the box then the quantity is 1.
Kilos - If, you purchase an item in kilo's do you record the case type as 1000g or 1kg
This can vary the case type may be 25kg and the this is broken down to 250g this could have 2 scenarios:
1. Buy Case Type 25000g = 25kg and Sale Case Type 250g or
2. Buy Case 25 = 25kg and Sale Case Type 0.25
NOTE: When creating acase type and there are multiple ones allocated against a code ensure in stock item maintenance that the default sale case type is the lowerst denominator. E.G if you have a casetype of 200 and a one of 10, 10 needs to be the defaul.
